once you download your ipod touch version 2.0
GO TO ITUNES ...
ONCE YOUR ITUNE FOUND YOUR DEVICE YOU CLICK IT AND , THEN PRESS " UPDATE AND SHIFT AT THE SAME TIME.
PRESS " OPTION FOR MAC"
PRESS " SHIFT FOR WINDOWS"

why does restoring to/ updating to 2.0 make 2.2 free? can u restore to 2.1 and get 2.2 free still?

If you have 2.0 or higher its a free update to 2.2
