It's a shame he was not in it more, he is one of my favourite leaguers. He gets more face time in young justice along with aqualad, although I prefer the aqualad from teen titans . He also makes a brief appearance in the justice league movie "crisis on two earths". I like how in justice league he has the hook though.

Concerning Aquaman's transformation from SF nice guy to JLU roughian, it actually makes sense considering the life he had between the two: fighting for kingdom, ruling a kingdom, wars, losing a hand, having a family, etc. He would have to become more like King Leonidos with that life.
I don't think he really has disdain for women though. He loves and respects his female friends and family. He was just taunting Hawkgirl. He has just wise enough to know when to fight dirty and be a jerk.
