Management thought leaders share their ideas on what future leaders can't live without. Featuring: Angel Cabrera, Bill George, Daisy Wademan Dowling, Andy Zelleke, Batia Mishan Wiesenfeld, Evan Wittenberg, Dr. Ellen Langer, and Scott Snook.
Empathy: A deeper understanding what another or self may be experiencing..... Empathic listening builds fast and authentic trust and cooperation throgh connection.
@awhodatt I agree to some extent, but if you look a model of sports coach and athlete, it is entirely possible for someone to teach a principle to be performed at a level far greater than they are personally capable.
Snook makes some great points. I would venture that no single answer is right nor wrong, but we're seeing a movement towards charismatic, emotional, empathic, communication and transformational leadership, this in comparison (generally) to the leaders who operate on principals, systems, directiveness, goal-minded and straightforward leadership.
We're facing leadership that appeals to Gen Y that replaces "tough" with "tech" and wants life more comfortable. Leaders who can conform will lead
Great video. Interesting and diverse comments.
