it seems like most hueys now have external rocket pods and gun mounts generally reserved for huey gunships. did i miss something or is there some explanation?

@paintballa175 Thats why theyre LIGHT ATTACK. They wouldnt be very light if they had heavy bulky armor would they? And yeah RPGs are LOS weapons not very accurate, and there are defense measures for guided missles.

Well as far as I know, they are IR deflectors, or shields, or suppressors. whatever. I don't know if it actually extends the life of the tailboom, but one thing I do know is it makes the tailboom a hell of a lot cleaner come time to do a 14 day.
And yes it is carrying a sidewinder, and FLIR is not necessary to fly.
