  • there is allso a group of people who have information to suggest that the government dint give our chief constables mutch choice as to equipment suppliers either,it was to be a two horse race between sepura or motorola.guess which company came away whith the biggest share of the pie..yes motorola, our american cousins.even the equipment installed in the i/p repeaters is from motorola.can any one guess whats going on yet?!!!.

  • @escillon1 This is very true. I was sat in a meeting with BT Quadrant on the day the decision was made to go with Motorola. Until the minute a certain person walked in the door and told everyone the bad news it was clear Nokia would win the contract, every one of the decision makers in the room knew this. Then Jack Straw made sure his American friends won the contracts despite Motorola’s solution was much more expensive and technically inferior to Nokia’s.

  • It sounds like Tetrapol was rejected because it lacks the important 17Hz pulse.

  • Thanks for uploading this important information.

  • This is nuts there is no reason to design the system with a modulation of at this frequency. The entire radio spectrum is at there disposal well apart from highly embedded commercial frequency's but they choose this, its not even that fast for digital either. Tesla proved this was a problem a long time ago so there need be no argument about it.

  • the three main emergency services have no say in the matter as to what system they can use.the reason for this is quite simple, the radio regulator(ofcom) in cahoots with central government withdrew any and all new type approval for the radio equipment for emergency service use.secondly, around the time that each area was to go live with tetra, ofcom allso withdrew any further issue of licenses and permissions to use the older uhf system..they were all backed into a corner.
