Sikhs up & down the UK protected Gurdwaras as well as whole towns & cities ,defending against any attacks on religious places of worship and overall communities.Bhai Kam Singh describes how Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale inspired Sikhs up & down the country to come out and defend Gurdwaras from Southall to Smethwick - Armed Sikhs patrolled the streets to keep people of all races/communitues/religions safe - when the Police failed to do so .Southall Sikhs in particular made world headlines when hundreds turned up to defend the Gurdwaras in Southall & to patrol the streets this story was covered in all National Newspapers & David Cameron gave a special mention to the Sikhs of Southall in the Parliament.

the Shri Guru Granth Sahib and Guru's teaching is the ideal teaching for the ideal world, however the world is far from ideal. Maybe we sikhs need to be in power to set an example for the world. Just like the U.S. is the leader and the world follows in its footstep, even in the negative aspect, maybe sikhs by non ideals mean can get into power and then set an example for the world. It may not appear right to be non-ideal, but the end will justify the means
