To fold the British Union Jack flag, lay it flat, fold down the center and then fold in half three more times. Store the Union Jack flag in a dry place, out of direct sunlight, using insight from the owners of a flag and flagpole vendor in this free video on flags.

  • The British flag is not called a Union Jack, it's correctly called a Union Flag. "Jack" is a British naval term for a flag, the Union Flag is only called a "Union Jack" when it is flown from the bow (front) of a boat or a ship.

  • For British Military Funerals the Union Jack was folded the same as the American Flag. I know cause I was the one who folded it.

  • @sarahkb7 Sorry Sarah, that is incorrect!

The Admiralty itself frequently referred to the flag as the Union Jack, whatever its use, and in 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that Their Lordships had decided that either name could be used officially. Such use was given Parliamentary approval in 1908 when it was stated that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag".

I hope this becomes the top comment so British people 'actualy' learn about thier own flag!.

  • And you can't hold it upside down, that's crap too. Try it, it's the same upside down as it is the other way up. The question is which side to attach it to the mast from. The wrong way is the same way up but rotating it left to right, nit upside down.

  • That's crap about the boat thing. It was called the union jack before that, but it's a widely accepted rumour now.

  • As a Brit I'm so glad to see the flag being held the right way up instead of upside down.

  • Is this an example?

LOLOLOL AmeRica iz WAY bEtter thAn enGAYlanD troll troll troll

  • it's almost like the Canadian Flag!

  • @acebunny17 THAT IS NOT NYLON FLAG

  • @Williamwallace0 so bundle it up and throw it on the floor?

  • can anyone tell me if this is a nylon flag or not?

  • you missed the last stage which is smothering it in fuel and setting it alight lmao
