On Brief #301, I stop by the LaCie [1] booth and learn I've been
mis-pronouncing their name. I pronounce it Lacy and they pronounce it
laSEE. LaCie has a collection of portable hard drives called Little
Disks designed by Sam Hecht [2]. The smallest Little Disk comes with
either 30GB or 40GB of storage. The middle size Little Disk is 60GB
and the largest Little Disk comes in capacities of 80GB, 120GB, 160GB,
250GB and 320GBs. They're also very shiny. I also spent some time
talking to the Brain Tonic [3] guy, Scott Ohlgren. It seems a little
off topic for Geek Brief, but we kept drinking the drink all week and
I liked it. His story was interesting. He introduced Brain Tonic last
November. The owner of OWC [4] (source of great deals on Mac upgrades)
liked it so much he offered to buy the company.
Time is running out for your chance to win an HP Media Smart
Server. Here are the rules [5].
It's our ninth wedding anniversary today, so we're headed to
dinner!
