@MariosLasagna Erector spinae is the actual muscle i think but he said something else, the bone maybe?

Hey guys, the key words to this video are 'intro' and 'progression.' if you were to teach anyone how to squat this is how you start. This is not all of the information, simply a baseline. No coach will ever recommend that you lift your butt up and then do a good morning to stand up.

@MariosLasagna The sacrum is actually a bone, not a muscle.
-
@MariosLasagna it's the "sacrum"

At 1:18 what muscle does Rippetoe say that is? The one he is pointing to with his finger. It sounds like he said "this is the center" but I'm not sure...

@Condeycon And by that same token, just because someone isn't ripped like some roided out bodybuilder, doesn't mean they aren't strong and doesn't mean they don't lift on a serious basis.
-
@GarrettP8 I'm not taking away from Rippetoe's achievements as a lifter but my point remains the same. Just because someone doesn't lift doesn't mean they don't know anything about lifting. There are a lot of Olympic athletes who hardly know a thing about the finer points of their respective sports and rely heavily on the knowledge and advice of their less physically adept but more knowledgeable coaches.
-
@Condeycon i would say there is a correlation. Rippetoe's record was a 600lb squat. Idk about you but i think thats a lot of weight

this man has my full attention.

man that guy is fat
@skatetodestroy1 A persons physical fitness has no correlation to how much they know about physical fitness. I'll remind you that knowledge is kept in the brain, not the muscles. Rippetoe is well versed in working out both. Listen to him.
