Paul Levinson critiques Pat Robertson (John Kasich guest host)

Pat Robertson said that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for not following the Old Testament, and giving away some of the land of Israel. John Kasich, Janet Folger, and I discuss the morality of literally applying the Old Testament to a Prime Minister on his deathbed. I argue that Robertson's statements were inappropriate and graceless.

I was raised a preacher's child, i married a preachers daughter i have talked to many bible studiers and after years of being around many debates over everything imaginable, I have come to the conclusion that human beings are not qualified to understand the Bible because i have never meet anyone that reads it for what is there without having some sort of pre-conceived beleif system that they are trying to justify by the Bible.

Obviously, do to the fact that there are thousands of different sects of Christianity, you can make the Bible say what you want! nobody, least of all Pat Robertson, has a monopoly on the Bible, what it says and what it means! Maybe if he hadn't made about a dozen false predictions, all of which he claimed were from God instead of being pulled straight outta his own ass, he'd have some credit.
