I just finished applying EA. Wow, something to look forward to :P I'm praying that I can use my creative brain to figure out some ways to reduce the monotony somewhat...
I understand that; my goal is to continue in academia until I acquire a Ph.D. in control systems of biological processes, basically meaning stem cell research.
Georgia Tech is very challenging, especially for engineering majors. The engineering school at Tech is easily comparable to that of MIT's. It's rigorous, yet, strangely, satisfying.
I don't want to discourage you from studying bme as an undergrad, but I should inform you that bme's one of those majors, such as chemistry or biology, that's useful for job seeking purposes only for those who have a degree beyond a bachelor's degree. Talk to your adviser about it, because I could be wrong.
I'm a biomedical engineering major. However, I'd have to say that my second choice would be electrical. How is Georgia Tech? I applied early decision to U-Penn though =], so i guess I wont be going to MIT unless Penn rejects me, which is unlikely, and then MIT would too... Lol

Just curious, what gpa would you be satisfied with by the time you graduate? I seriously hope it's not a 4.0...

The 8.02 book by Ohanian Markert would have been a better choice. Its one of the best introductory physics with calc. text Ive seen so far.

What's your major? I'm doing electrical engineering at Georgia Tech, which is extremely challenging.

I'm applying for MIT this year. This video is hilariously accurate, not only of enrolled MIT students but applicants alike.
