I made no such attempt, silly fools and their semantic games. I stated that Jefferson's slaves where probably happier with their arrangement then those in the south who received no money. Can you honestly disagree with that? Or are you just being argumentative?

I blame directly anyone who takes advantage and doesn't deserve. I blame government for affording the opportunity of such abuses.

i agree that there is both gross and criminal mismanagement in government, but to lay the blame at the door of the poor is very misguided.

as far as this health care legislation, if we got rid of medicare, medicaid, va, tricare, and private insurance, and say hey, you cant hold our medicine hostage, then created a fund for all of health care, then i think it would work.

jefferson didn't think that slaves 'earned' their keep. he believed in the philosophy of paying them (workers, not slaves) enough to keep them dependant, then lay taxes on them. sound familiar? oh yeah, it's called capitalism. jefferson was just as messed up as marx was, both were brilliant and both were fucked up. arbitrarily reassigning wealth like giving a mega corp hundreds of millions of dollars for incompetance? what does incompetance earn? i agree that the gov is irresponsible
