The legendary Peter Aerts, nicknamed the lumberjack because of his devastating kicks makes his entrance. Full of confindence after a having scored 10 wins in a row - including 9 knockouts,- he makes his way to the ring... Nostalgia.

  • HOLLAND 4 LIFE!!!

  • What is this song called?

  • @megalodonNL Well maybe it's just their mindset, many of them come from the ghetto and as Wlad said - if you don't have an education you'll lose your money.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros

I agree. But I guess those boxers simply need the money 'cause they've been spending it all or got ripped off somehow. That's exactly why I felt sorry for Arthur (whatever his real name is) 'cause he looked like he just needed the money and clearly didn't know anything about kick-boxing.

  • @megalodonNL Yes I've seen that fight. But also I believe it's a little bit about styles, for example if Pacquiao fights Petrosyan he'll get inside the pocket with his athleticism and bang Giorgio out whereas if Mayweather fights Petrosyan he'll stay on the outside and Giorgio will have the advantage of low kicks and body kicks. What is stupid is that some boxers when they're no longer relevant in boxing and hit their 40s they decide to try out in other combative sports and make fools of tselves

  • @DestroyerAlexandros

Yeah you're probably right with the 50/50... probably depends on who'll land first :)

Too bad we'll never see such a fight happen. So far we've only see Mighty Mo punching a few kickboxers with his right hand, but couldn't beat Aerts. And Ignashov vs King Arthur wasn't exactly a fair match... Ignashov was still in his prime and Arthur past prime, who wasn't even a real heavyweight. That fight is fun for K-1 fans, but I felt sorry for Arthur. Have you seen that fight?

  • @megalodonNL from that I think two world class fighters from boxing and K-1 would be evenly matched. The K-1 guys have the advantage of low kicks but if they get reckless trying to kick only and block with their gloves they'll get caught inevitably. It's 50/50 IMO, unless the absolute cream of the crop boxers are in there, which IMO are the best sportsmen to ever compete in any sport.

  • @megalodonNL Yes Lennox knew Vitali was gonna beat him in a rematch so he retired. He also ducked Tyson while they were young and never fought Riddick Bowe, so that's stupid, but he did fight and demolishes everybody he faced his entire career. Yeah you're right, in K-1 you fight all the time so chances are you're gonna get to fight your blood rivals at least a few times, which is fantastic. You're right about the head movement, you can get caught with a knee while bobbing your head. But apart

  • @DestroyerAlexandros

Well, Lewis had problems with Klitschko, and he didn't want to give him a rematch even though I think Klitschko asked for it. Didn't want to give Tyson a rematch either. I thought that's kinda weak. That's what I like about K-1: plenty of rematches.

Anyway, Kickboxers do not move their heads that much on purpose because a good kickboxing opponent will trick them into eating shinbone or knee.

  • @megalodonNL I don't know man. Out of all combative sports probably the one I enjoy most is K-1 kickboxing but the best boxers like Ali and Lewis and Tyson (and soon Klitschkos) were one in a billion. Scratch that, one in a trillion. That's how rare their talent was. Some inherent weaknesses of kickboxing especially muay thai are that there's little to no head movement. The Dutch combined boxing with muay thai so they flushed through K-1.
