  • Not that I know of. I wouldn't recommend it anyway. The performance will be very slow as USB Hard Drives can not transfer data as quickly as an internal hard drive so your experience will greatly suffer. Why are you trying to install on a USB Drive.

  • I'm not sure if the key from 7000 will work on 7077. Give it a try and find out.

I recorded the boot up by installing Windows 7 as a guest OS under VMware ESX. This way I was able to record the entire boot sequence from my desktop while the guest was booting.

I've got a pretty extensive lab that I can play around with at work for stuff like this.

  • I have windows 7 build 7068 but when i try to restart or shutdown, it takes a very long time like 4minutes before my computer restarts to the boot screen or till my computer fully shuts down. Could anyone please help me fix this?

    thank you

  • The only official release of Windows 7 was build 7000. Other builds were leaked and could have all sorts of performance bugs which is why those builds are not public releases.

  • Isn't build 7068 the latest one? Like in windows update when you update, it updated all the way to nuild 7068?

  • My machine is fully patched via Windows Update and it still says build 7000 everywhere that I've looked. Where is your's saying build 7068?

  • Microsoft has published their recommended specification for a system running Windows 7 beta. Since Windows 7 is similar to Windows Vista, the recommended specification are much the same as for premium editions of Vista, however Windows 7 uses less hard disk space.

  • Is there a way to install it on an external hdd?? I know that ms won't us to but is there a patch or a special driver to bypass this? Thank's and good video!
