This video is kinda hard for me to watch, but it was so much fun to skate.
Anyway, if you're not familiar with Interpretive in figure skating competitions, essentially the competitor arrives to the rink with absolutely no idea what the music will be (hence why the costume doesn't match the music). During the five minute practice ice before the event, the skaters hear the music for the first time. The one-minute selection plays about twice, then all the skaters exit the practice ice, hear it one more time, and each perform their interpretation of the music. Lastly, none of the skaters are allowed to watch any of the competitors who skate before them, so they don't steal ideas.
I hope that explains why this "program" is hardly polished and pretty much just me skating around in circles and dancing a little, with some difficult-to-distinguish Michael Jackson impressions. It's still a lot of fun, though. In the uber-subjective judging that accompanies this event, I actually won.
The music is "The Way You Make Me Feel" by the late Michael Jackson. Coincidentally, this event was two months before he passed.
You better moonwalk!! LOL That was awesome!
