WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology
Bloomington, Indiana
June 2 - September 4, 2011
What makes Elmo® dance, and how does the Etch A Sketch® work? Have a hands-on experience discovering the combination of gears, pulleys, linkages, cams, and circuits inside many of your favorite toys and games. The exhibition includes a dozen different hands-on stations illustrating the simple mechanisms commonly found in toys from a jack-in-the-box to the game Operation®. Some stations provide open-ended activities that encourage you to make your own toy-like mechanisms. Toys: The Inside Story makes its first appearance in Indiana at WonderLab this summer! The family-friendly science exhibition was created by the Montshire Museum of Science with funding from the National Science Foundation. Information: http://www.wonderlab.org
