Blaine County, Idaho Sheriff Walt Femling on Feb. 17 proposed providing law enforcement for the resort city of Ketchum and at a 27% savings over current costs. Councilors and Mayor Randy Hall repeatedly insisted the sheriff's offer was only one of several options under consideration, including promoting assistant Chief Mike McNeil to the top spot. "We're just being thorough in tough economic times, Hall said. Former Chief Cal Nevland, Mayor Ed Simon and patrolman Pete Kantor, all said "No way!"
