Even though he was born in Hawaii and raised in Indonesia, President Barack Obama spent a large part of his life working on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois as a community organizer and university professor. As their former U.S. senator, Barack Obama, rises this week to the presidency, the city and neighborhood he calls home celebrates the historic moment. As VOA's Kane Farabaugh reports from Chicago, residents also hope Obama's Presidency raises the city's profile on the global stage.
