I suppose because there is no way to explain nothing that we invent ideas such as creators or multiple universes because nobody seems capable of thinking of nothing turning into something.
But those creations of thought such as gods or multiple universes will always require their own explanation since those things must have had a point where they didn't exist.
Hence why the brain comes full circle and thinks of infinity or things always existing, you are always chasing your tail.

There was nothing....and nothing exploded.
I'm certain that although that is a paradox of the english language there can still be such a thing as mathmatical nothing. In english nothing=absolutely nothing.
In maths you can have something which is nothing if you tried to describe it as a physical thing.
There has to be mathmatics to describe nothing and it isn't zero points , zero dimensions, zero vectors etc, which is what people intuitively think of.
Like the mathmatics of infinity.

@ all the ignorant freaks posting comments about Brian Cox's sexuality- as it turns out, he's not gay, he's married with a child. Not that it would matter, since being gay is as good as being straight. He's a respected, highly qualified scientist who makes complicated science interesting and accessible- for those of us with minds open enough to listen to new ideas.....
