An attempt to get a nice Mesa-esque crunch sound through my Suhr S3 thorugh an Axe FX Ultra going straight into Garageband via a stealthplug cable.

I'm no bluesman so forgive my very limited Blues licks! :D, the idea is more about the sound.

The guitar is totally stock (apart from the knobs which i changed to speed knobs), the finish is called Faded Denim, these are killer guitars, definitely play one of you get the chance :D

If you're wondering why my left hand looks a little weird I'm wearing finger protectors because i have a bad nickel allergy, anyway it took a little getting used to but so far it's working out pretty well...

  • What do you think about axe fx, is it worth extra 1500 gbp , compare to 500 gbp ENGL screamer?

  • @99mmpick - honestly in my opinion it is worth it. The Axe FX is the best value piece of gear i've ever bought - it does everything, and get's better with every firmware upgrade

  • aren't there non-nickel coated strings?

  • @pfarina - yes it turns out they give me the same trouble, it's a repetitive contact thing apparently.

  • @Moltisanti weird...

  • @pfarina - yep, if i lost my arm i'd find a way to fix a slide to the end so i could still play \m/ :D

  • You have great vids btw..

  • reeally nice maple top on that guitar

  • @MyLifeChanger Remember that Suhr guitars are built to custom spec and to meticulous perfection. John Suhr doesn't just mass produce fender copies. Sure, you could order a Suhr guitar similar to a fender strat specification, but if strat players didn't think they were better built than a fender custom, they wouldn't invest to have John Suhr build one for them.

You custom order a guitar from John Suhr because it's exactly the dream guitar you want in every aspect of it's construction.

  • @tehsimo - true, i actuaaly really liked the ss Suhr frets
