  • Turn off electricity first. And don't forget about ground.

  • cool vid

  • need to show how to check if any power is going through.

  • last week i couldnt spell recracall engineer and this i are one

  • ummmm...isn't there a ground you must attach as well??...smokey the bear says yes!!

  • This is not a good tutorial. It's unclear explaination.

  • Yes there can be a white wire on the switch. Either because the code that requires the white to be marked with a color was not writen yet, or the electrician was to lazy to do it right. If there is a white, the power should come to the switch on that wire(which you should now mark with any color you want except green or gray), and return to the light on the already colored wire. If it seems to be more complicated on your own project, please be safe and consult your local electrical contractor.

  • and fluresent lights with special dimmers and ballasts, as well with older home with alluminum wirering to use switches rated for alluminum wire or fire can occur

  • well i will solve it for you right know, i am a electrician for 7 years and yes a white wire can go to the switch, because the LVT of lumex wire the black and wire wire as well a bonding wire is under one insulation. In this situation the white wire is supose to be hot and the black wire will be the switch leg due to the fact that a neutral is not needed for a switch. Second of all this guy is an idiot maybe tell people you can only dim incandescent lights,

  • so... basically the white wire does exist and it is used, but the person has identify that it's a neutral so that people won't get confuse?, but isn't the wire white anyways? Just asking, cuz well I Don't know much of anything in the topic but just in case, it will be good to know something like that right? just in case something goes wrong in the house it will be good to know. thx!
