The U.S.S. Enterprise crew comes across a planet with a pre-industrial civilization that seems to be sending radio transmissions into space. While rendering aid to a crippled courier ship in orbit of the planet, Captain Kirk and his senior staff wonder if the two situations are related.

This film entitled "And Let the Heavens Fall" was written, directed, animated and produced by Curt Danhauser and is the first new animated STAR TREK episode to be produced in more than three decades. The last new animated STAR TREK episode featuring Captain Kirk and his crew was produced by Filmation and aired on NBC-TV Saturday morning, October 12, 1974. Now, after almost 34 years, new episodes are being produced. These new episodes are intended to be a direct continuation of the 22-episode animated STAR TREK series produced by Filmation Associates from 1973-1974. To kick off the new episodes, a seven-minute animated short feature "The Element of Surprise" debuted July 23, 2008 on www.DanhauserTrek.com.

Part One of this new episode originally debuted on www.DanhauserTrek.com on September 8, 2008, with the final two parts being released in April 2009. The episode is 29 minutes long.

  • @CHDanhauser Why did you upload these videos with those dubbed voices what was so wrong with the original cast voices?

    Please explain the change.

  • @TheRampAgent These are new animations based upon the 1970's animated series. See my site URL in the info section. I wrote and animated these new tales in recent years and as such I did not have access to the original actor's voices, four of which has since passed away.

  • So are the humans but that don't count. What counts is the excellent job that Danhauser did with this. It should a standard for all of us amateurs. Very good job.

  • @fingerfootfive Thank you for the kudos. On my site's page for this video, I deal with the Novarrans' lack of amazement at seeing aliens.

  • Is it just me, or is M'ress somewhat sexy for a 70s cartoon character? I remember she was one of the first female characters who I found attractive as a kid.

  • Oops...if this was a per-indurtral society, Wouldn't the away team be in indigenous clothes. Plus Lieutenant M'Ress would not be with them since she is an extraterrestrial to the inhabitants of this planet. This would be First Contact for them.

  • @supressorgrid

    Like M'ress too?

  • Here, kitty kitty kitty!

  • Very well done! Keep up the good work.

  • Well done.
