HO Scale. I added some NANO LED's to the steps of the locomotive and also replaced the ditch lights and headlights to bright LED's. The hidious Digitrax soundecoder and the rediculous flashing ditch lights were removed and replaced with a GE 5 chime horn by Soundtraxx. The Tower 55 ES44DC is one of the best engines I've ever owend (other then the mentioned above) and I love it! I really wish Tower 55 was still in business because the HO Scale SD70ACes would probably be out already.

  • I see you have that new Athearn BN Desert Storm locomotive... Cool.

  • I thought you were nuts because I didn't have that engine in this video, but then I watched it again and see that it is in the background. Yea, I bought one of those right away! I love that paint scheme.

  • where did you get this engine.i want that

  • I own 8 of the Genesis SD70i and SD75i and yes I too agree that for the level of detail that was on the Genesis models, that it was a significant improvement over what Athearn was recently offering. I know that the Tower 55 units had much better and sturdier details I just hope Athearn doesn't skimp out on those details and start replacing them with the delrin plastic. One thing I cannot stand is yes Athearn and Atlas now have scale width handrails but why couldn't they do it with brass!

  • Hey i need help choosing my next locomoitve. I want a Canadian National ES44DC with a K5HL horn. I don't want to have to customize it at all. Can you please guide me to where i can get one with a K5HL? Thanks.

  • is that supposed to be a k5hl? because an ES44DC, especially the 7700's up to 7800's have a gevo horn (k5hl)

  • Very cool lights! That is one pimped out loco :O)

  • the step lights are a little too bright

  • Thats cool how you but in those lights by the steps, but I'm just wondering, is putting in ditchlights fairly easy or is it difficult?

  • the bell is soundtraxx, & i can make out the Soundtraxx FDL-16.... but i've never.... NEVER heard that horn before, & i've been through ever horn on the website, lettme know how you got that set up its nice, & how'd you do the step lights? i was planning on doing that with my new C40-8 & maybe running board lights as well.... & im adding ditch lights & markers and yada yada, just glad to see it ain't a bad idea haha!

  • Wait so what did you use for the ditch lights and head lights? Or are they just the original bulbs?
