I adore this song. He's simply saying that the Apostle of Christ was a dreadlocked Rasta of Ethiopia(H.I.M Haile Selassie I), and (obviously) Jesus wasn't bald. 'Bald' meaning "without dreadlocks". Any true Rastafarian would call you bald if you do not have dreadlocks. It's as simple as that.

Jesus Christ was not a bald head...that was the foundation of this song, white folk like to have an image of christ as a "normal" guy. Christ transended those thoughts and bullshit that babylon has built upon him...Hence, bunny pleding to give him the old time religion!
