Thank you Jerry.
Rest in peace.
Jerry's recitation of this poem was a special request of mine as I was not sure if I would ever see Jerry again and remembering the first time that I heard him recite it, I knew it would be one of the many ways that I would remember him. It turned out that it was the last time I saw Jerry so I'm especially glad that I made this request. Jerry was like an uncle to me but closer than almost any member of my genetic family. This was shot on the very last day of a long visit back to Kehena, a trip I took partially as I knew Jerry was getting on in age. It turned out that these were the last few minutes I spent with Jerry - how perfect.
Skipped like half the lines?

Hey Ohzonator
thanx for being my very first subscriber
The last verse of Thanatopsis really is marvellous and a fitting poem to remember your friend with, though I dare say the poet Bryant may have meant things in a Christian context it suits a heathen like me just fine....

My name is Danny Young, I knew Jerry since 1982 when he was teaching English in Providence University of Taiwan. He was my Spanish teacher too, then, we became very good friends. I respect him, admire him and love him very much.
Thank you Jerry for being a part of my life, thank you Jerry for the friendship and thank you Jerry for letting me know you are such a big hearted friend.
Like you said, I know your name and you know my name, let us see each other in heaven
Love, Danny Young
