Stephen Foster's (1826-1864) "Beautiful Dreamer" as transcribed by jason waldron

Stephen Foster: "Beautiful Dreamer" Lyrics

Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,
Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;
Sounds of the rude world heard in the day,
Lulld by the moonlight have all passd away!

Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,
List while I woo thee with soft melody;
Gone are the cares of lifes busy throng

Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea,
Mermaids are chaunting the wild lorelie;
Over the streamlet vapors are borne,
Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.

Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
Een as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,

Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me! (more)

  • I played this song and i had trouble swiching to "g" any helpful tips?

  • @Theaqwcommentary Isolate the parts you have trouble with, Extra Practice on the hard parts (that part you have trouble switching to "G")...do it at least 10 to 20 times/ a day for a couple of weeks...it will get easier...use a metronome if you have one and start slow...Good Luck. Thanks for watching.

  • This is so beautiful. I fell in love with this song when I was little and heard Didi sing it to Dill on the rugrats ( I'm not really that old.. just 18 ) But I never heard a whole lot of lullaby's when I was younger but this one always stayed in my head. Thank you for posting your video! I hope I can learn to play like you someday!
