They have a program at Children's to explain leukemia with candy called "blood soup." It's a fun thing that we hope her preschool will do too when she starts going back.

  • @jsrcamp - Ash was 4 when she got diagnosed and when this video was taken. She's definitely been through a lot in the last year and a half, but she's doing great now. Ironically, the leukemia never showed up in her blood, they caught it earlier by looking at an MRI and then doing a spinal tap and bone marrow test. Don't worry about those tests if they do them - she's had many of them over the last several months, and they're actually pretty easy. Good luck, hope your daughter is OK!!

  • That is a Great way to explain this to a very young child=) may I ask how old she is or was when this was taped? how is she doing now? I have a 4 year old daughter who had to many Lymphocites in her blood and we just had her blood tested again and now we are just waiting for the results to come back, I had a dream last night that she had Leukemia and was down in our childrens hosptial(Albany Med in Ny) and now i am worried about the results.

  • I wish her well on her journey, I beat Leukemia, She will too.

  • Great way to explain it.
