Sally is a 5 year old mare who is gorgeous, with the coolest white splash THROUGH her mane and on both sides of her neck.
Sally has been on 3 rides close to home with an alpha horse to lead, and has successfully competed in a CMO ride with 2 other CWER horses.
This video is the first time she has ridden outside an arena with no other horses. Her rider Jenn has done great with her, and they are clearly having fun!
For details on how to adopt please visit her web page.

  • UPDATE: Sally has been adopted and is doing fantastic in a handicapped riding program and will hopefully be a part of the special olympics in 2012!

  • Sally is ridden here by her junior trainer, Genn, who has done most of the ground work and much of the riding work with Sally. Genn is a regular volunteer at CWER who has been learning how we train as part of her volunteering with us. Genn is also who rode sally at the nacmo.org Competitive Mounted Orienteering ride -- a competitive 4+ hour trail ride at a state park, scavenger hunt on horseback. Details on Sally's webpage.

  • Next question:

Sally was born in 2005, so she is 5 at the time of this video.

Sally has been riding since 2009. We were told she rode previously, but if she did, it wasn't likely that it was a controlled, managable ride.

Sally needs an upper intermediate rider who is confident yet patient. She is not a beginner's horse and it's unlikely she ever would be.

Details about Sally's past and her training are on her webpage.

  • OK...so, to clarify questions that have been asked or get asked a lot or will be asked...

details on how to adopt, whether Sally is still available, how much adoption fees are, how much training she has, what she eats, and much much more, please visit our website and go to sally's page. Sorry, for some reason YouTube doesn't allow links in these posts.
