Susquehanna River's source is Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, New York. Once in Pennsylvania, the river cuts through the Endless Mountains in the Allegheny Plateau, flowing through the former anthracite industrial heartland of the mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania: past Wilkes-Barre, Nanticoke, Berwick, Bloomsburg, and Danville. Past Selinsgrove, home of Susquehanna University, the Susquehanna River becomes nearly a mile wide as it passes through the capital of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. Downriver it forms the border between York and Lancaster counties, then crosses into Maryland. Finally the mighty Susquehanna reaches its mouth at Havre de Grace on the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay, where Concord Point Light was built in 1827. The watershed includes portions of the Allegheny Plateau region of the Appalachian Mountains, cutting through many water gaps in the mountain ridges, the last water gap going through Blue Mountain above Harrisburg. Over two hundred bridges cross the river along its 444 mile length.

  • @BlueDogBushcraft Glad I could bring back pleasant memories. All my life I have been fascinated by streams, creeks, rivers, waterways, and feel blessed to be surrounded by tiny rocky rivulets to grandeur of great rivers. Thanks!

  • @VoceVersatile My mother attended Susquehanna University in Selingsgrove, which inspired me to make this video. Sometimes I wish I wish I could go back and see the landscape hundreds of years ago when my ancestors first came here. Yr wyf yn credu Pennsylvania yn debyg yr hen wlad i'r Cymry a ddaeth yma. Diolch i chi am eich geiriau meddylgar, Dafydd of Gymru. My dream is to someday to visit Wales. Sarah

  • Lovely playing and a breathtaking set of scenes. You have a beautiful homeland and this is a brilliant offering, Sarah. At times like these you match and surpass yr hen wlad. Hwyl fawr - Dafydd o Gymru.
