Part Four: Kakariko Village

Freedom! For Zelda, anyway. Link is now thrown into this grand quest that somehow involves saving the future of Hyrule. Typical. He probably just wants to go back to sleep! I mean, what hero wouldn't, after being woken up in the middle of a stormy night? Well, since he IS Hyrule's only hope, we might as well explore a bit and ask the locals about what's going on. That is, if they don't try to betray us to the soldiers! First, we stock up on some goods, discover the power of the heart piece, get lots of money ('cause all heroes are greedy bastards, after all), complete some puzzles, blow holes in people's walls and steal their stuff from the treasure chests, abuse some cuccos...and find out about the location of the old man. Hmm...lots to do, so little time. So, let's get started!

The Kakariko village music is much better in Ocarina of Time than in this game!

Someone once pointed out that there may not actually be a timeline for the Legend of Zelda games. It may be that LttP, OoT and the other Link/Zelda/Gannon centric games are actually derivations of the original Legend of Zelda but with elements changing as what happens with legends which are passed down by word of mouth. The others, like AoL, MM and WW, are different yet unrelated stories of what happened to Link following the original story.

I was curious when the concept of Heart Pieces was first set, and the answer, Legend of Zelda 2 A link to the Past. In Links Awakening you attack the Hens, Cucco, enough times the attack you back, but in Twilight Princess they do a temporary body swap in which you control the Cucco.
