A positive, sunny, "Always look on the Bright Side" look at my home town, the "Garden Spot of the Buckeye State"...Warren, Ohio. Trust me, you'll LOVE this place! Why not?
BTW-Yes, The courthouse area is nice, & The Hot Dog Shoppe Rocks, but I have been there at least once every year or so since leaving in '99, and it looks worse and sadder every time.
I was born & raised in Warren.Lived on Burton st, then Scott st. off of Elm rd. Dated a guy I ended up marrying from Westlawn. I went to Mckinley elementary which is a lot now.Turner which was a horrible school.Western Reserve, also terrible.Harding was a decent school. I know it's rebuilt & new.I left & went to what was the TCJVS at the time. I moved at 18 to the east coast, Every time I go back to Warren to visit, it's just sad & depressing. It is run down, boarded up,& just plain desolate.
@sonick712 I haven't heard from or about anybody else who was in Wasteland when I was, but I guess I'm okay. Back in Warren, as I said months ago, but closer to Hooker Row and Meth Central, rather than Crack Alley.
I used to live a couple doors down from the older guy who had the garden in front of his apartment. Depending on when you were in Wasteland, you may have seen a gold and black Olds 442 in front of my old place there.
@xXFaTaLxGLoXx Yes it is! I was there this past summer for my pops funeral in Y-Town. I was born and raised in Warren. It's depressing now and dead. Kinda miss it still the same sometimes
I was one of the many unlucky kids raised in the Westlawn project. It was a normal day to see child abuse, animal abuse, arson, drug dealers and even shootings. I wonder how everyone else is. It was a terrible place but we didn't know any better. I always felt bad for the kids and the many dogs left to wander the streets. Glad its gone.
have these things aren't even here anymore
