Vietnam Era Veterans Memorial

This program will show the different construction phases that brought many people together with a common bond.
All veterans are truly honored by the Huey and the life-size bronze "A Hero's Prayer" as they show brothers helping brothers.
We need your help in raising the dollars needed to complete this memorial. Donations in any amount are urgently needed. We are a IRS 501(C-3) non- profit organization.

This memorial is called "Vietnam Era Veterans Memorial"It is for all veterans that served during this time period. Not just veterans that served in Vietnam. This memorial is not a war memorial---it is a peace memorial. Perhaps I was not clear in indicating that all military personel during these challenging years are being thanked and offered a place to go to reflect no matter where they may have served during this time period. I do hope this helps you understand what this memorial represents

Our reasoning is very simple. All veterans in the service from the time that the US was involved with Vietnam thru the time that our troops pulled out (approx. '1975" are being honored by this memorial. All veterans whether they served on a front line or in a support position no matter where their physcial location may happen to have been during the time period is being honored. All people that have served our country should be given a big thanks for helping to defend our country.

I was drafted into the Army in Dec. '65.

I was on orders to go to Vietnam on 2 separate occasions.

First time I did not have the sufficient time or training to be sent over. My orders were changed the second time at the last minute. I was ordered to a unit that trained soldiers to go to Vietnam. Note that on both occasions I did not ask to change my orders. I went to bed most nights preparing myself to accept the fact I was going to die at the “old” age of 21. What do you think I am?

The fact that they are in the military and serving in it is enough to be called a vet. @rlf1967 the point is that if they have not been to vietnam then how could they served in a war without serving. your comment does not make sense.
