The SOASC= project is an automated recording technique invented by me (Stone Oakvalley) in order to mass record music from the legendary Commodore 64 and its SID chips (6581 and 8580). The end result is the worlds largest music archive of authentic Commodore 64 as it should sound!

This feature film in 5 parts with a length of 45 minutes features real music from the Commodore 64 SOASC= recordings matched into a highly insane and tight synchronized graphics mayhem of a presentation galore.

The previous movie about this project was released here on YouTube in 2007 but I was never happy with the graphics, editing and footage there. For this cause I just had to use 4 months to create this massive beast of an editing treat.

This is the definitive movie about this project, so if you love Commodore 64 SID music get your popcorn and enjoy this magnificent ride into the cool music of the legendary home computer.

Visit the www.6581-8580.com for more news, information and of course the music as MP3 in a fully fledged database without any ads or crap in your face.

A higher resolution full length version is also available from my website.

Enjoy, 2008-bit rule, Commodore64EVER!

Regards Stone Oakvalley

  • all you need as quardrasid vst..... this is a waste

  • @jfootballfreak06 Quadrasid on iPod, Car Stereo, Dvd player? I must have missed out somewhere between tomorrow and very distant future.

  • @StoneOakvalley Its called you render to mp3? HAHA This is a waste of money and time. You can recreate a PERFECT authentic souneding wave shape of EVERY one of c64's chips with virtual instuments. AND this didnt even explain what the fuck you do with the sounds one you guys extracted the audio. this is very uninformative.

  • @jfootballfreak06 You obviously didn't grasp the scope of this project. It's not to create, make music or recreate waves perfectly "digitally", it's to record the authentic real warm music made in the 80-90's from real chips, not some high tech crisp emulation you moron. Nobody care a rat's ass with your VST's when you can have the real authentic version straight from C64 hardware. So, why not record all HVSC sid's from your VST plugin and release it, see how "welcomed" that will be. Your choice

  • Great collaboration!

  • Beautiful.

  • Oh, and about Thanatos, it's Ancient Greek for "dead". I think that explains the melancholic and sad style.

  • No hi-res version here? :(

  • "Nelly baby, i wanna do you all over!"

    Haha, you crazy motherfucker! ;)
