YATC Winter Camp 2010-2011 Montage

For seven days this past winter (Dec. 27-Jan 2), I went to my favorite place in the entire world. It is less of a physical location, and more of the environment. We could have camp in a broken down trailer park, and I'd probably still smile like crazy (that is not a suggestion, by the way). I went to YATC, or Young Actors' Theatre Camp. Usually, I'm busy or rushing and I forget to take out my FLIP. I don't have that many clips, but I just had to make a video in hopes of showing everyone even a bit of the fun that I had. The song I felt best went along with what I was trying to say was "Just The Way You Are". Originally a Bruno Mars song, but I love the Sam Tsui version more than I could ever even imagine liking the original. I own nothing. I don't own the original or the beautiful work done by Sam/Kurt. At the Young Actors' Theatre Camp Winter 2010-11, we had DARREN CRISS (Blaine on 'GLEE', Harry Potter in 'A Very Potter Musical') come in and teach a Master Class. A Master Class is a class where all of the groups (either all of the high school groups, all of the middle, all of the elementary, or just all of the campers) are together, in one room, for a big communal camp learning experience. The teacher of the Master Class typically comes in for one day and does a Question and Answer period (videos soon to come) and teaches, or, in Darren's case, performs a small concert for the one-hundred students and staff. We, as campers, were thinking that he would sing us one song, but he sang five and his voice rang in our ears beautifully for at least the rest of the day.

YATC is more than just the Master Classes though. It's a safe environment where anyone is welcomed in with big smiles and loads of hugs. Classes in all different types of performing are available, as well as just fun activities to pass the time away from home. Winter Camp is seven days and Summer Camp is eleven days.
