America was founded on rugged individualism and freedom for all participants. Yes, only the strong survive but we should take a little hint from the animal kingdom, they've been doing it this way for quite some time.
Either people work and create a productive lifestyle or they fall by the wayside. When government decides to step in and save everyone from themselves at the expense of the productive members of society, you have socialism.
