Chris Krueger shows you how to superset by demonstrating two of his favorite exercises, wide grip pull-ups for the lats and barbell bench press for pecs.

By supersetting chest exercises with back exercises you can get your sets done more quickly and get a fantastic "pump."

Also supersets do a fantastic job on training you cardiovascular system, because although your back is able to rest whilst you do chest and vice versa, you are constanly performing anaerobic exercise and your cardio system doesn't get to recover fully. Try it, you'll be out of breath by the end of your first super set, for certain. It's awesome.

Supersets are one of the advanced training methods used in the new TSC Training Program... it's the sequel to the Heart of a Champion and it's called, "On a Mission." Currently it's only available to TSCers that have completed the POWER-10 Challenge and can score over 210 on the TSC 300 Challenge.

  • @88Matija the second reason its difficult to add weight to your pushups so they become harder. Most of the time you want to train maximum strength with heavy weights and low reps. however That doesnt mean to vary the intensity by doin high reps, isometric exercises drop sets pp cant be effective.

  • @88Matija if you´re a beginner thats fine, however do the pushups slowly to increase the intensity. As soon as you advance pushups wont be as good of a chest exercise to build muscle mass as benchpress for the following reasons: pushups are a compound exercise, benchpress is more an isolation exercise. That means you use more different muscles to do a pushup then you do for a benchpress, but this also means you wont activate as many muscle fibers.

  • Supersets are hard to do when you're in a crowded NYC gym like I am a member of. Someone is ALWAYS on the equipment you need to do your second exercise of your superset.
