Too bloody bourgeois! She is much too loved, too comfortable by half, to feel the frost of love lost. Give me a Callas any day, the wounded deer with the mostest! This isn't an aria, but a hymn to the secular condition of very finite love...

Love the gleam in her top notes! I think she is better here than on the telecast yesterday. The voice now is still beautiful, but not quite as full and rich as it is here.

Mattila was fabulous today in HD, though perhaps this aria was not as memorable as this video clip. The energy in her, the movement, the restlessness, the foolishness, and the consistently superb singing. A true joy.

Callas died many years ago. Matilla is 48 years old and STILL singing like heaven,not fulling around with tycoons and jet sets guys.
