I personally can't stand Whitney Houston, she screamed most of her songs but had great PR and a legendary Aunt who opened doors for her. I thought Katherine knocked it out of the park but who am I just a fan who buys the cds. I'd buy Katherine's over Whtiney's any day.

I thought she did great. :( I think she's a better singer than Paula that's for sure.

@babygaga4421 I think that she could've had a better song choice, but the judges were too harsh. And she is exceptional, that's why she made it to the top 2 and she does have probably the best voice in the competition. Her vocal control is amazing and she rifts so skillfully, just that when she belts too hard, it sounds forced, unlike whitney houston whose intonation is much more powerful in the original. But i think she did a fantastic job with a song she shouldn't have sung

She clearly isn't used to people telling her she's not exceptional. She looked quite shocked at their reactions as if she has only heard praise when she sings.. and as if she thinks she's as great of a singer as Whitney Houston --in her prime.. or Christina Aguilera (who I hate but realize is one of the best singers around)..
Mcphee has obviously been coddled with only positive praise from her "stage mom"..

She was pitchy though! I like her voice, but this song was just way out of her league, I think. Sorry but the judges got it right.
