this art did evolve from veejitsu. but it did just that evolve! it is not vee jitsu anymore than veejitsu is small circle jujitsu. different stages brought forth different concepts and techniques to embrace the concepts. sanuces is something else!!!!!

You're not far from the truth. If you search this art's history, you'll find that it's founder Moses Powell Learned Jujutsu from Professor Florendo Visitacion who studied Small Circle Jujutsu under Professor Wally Jay (its founder) who learned Judo & Jujutsu from Dan Zan Ryu Jujutsu Founder Henry Okazaki who was the first to introduce Jujutsu to americans. if you trace most of the Arts like Vee-Jitsu, Sanuces, & lot of other Martial Arts Systems, you'll find they Spawned From Okazaki's System.

BJJ is woefully less affective than these techniques. Sport and survival are gravely differnt, vicious sport still does not raise to the level of practical survival. Rules allow sport to thrive.
