The American Dental Association and the government insist that traditional metal dental cavity fillings are safe, but as Dr. Jon LaPook reports, the FDA wants to take a second look.
is your assertion that methyl is 17-27 times more toxic ?
FDA gives no refetrences for the staement that methyl is more toxic.
both forms are toxic and bio-accumulate. In addition, one is not exposed to methyl ffrom fish 24 hours a day as those with amalgams.
go here to read of 3 sources (ATSDR and WHO) which state that the main source of mercury in people is from their amalgam mercuryexposure - dot - info/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=item&id=422&Itemid=241
@MercuryExposure it's actually pg. 26 of that 1991 report. It's a result of a previous study titled "Environmental Health Criteria 101: methylmercury". Mercury in vapor vs. methylmercury please see fda dot gov/medicaldevices/productsandmedicalprocedures/dentalproducts/dentalamalgam/ucm171094.htm#4
@t5e2 sure no problem. you can download that WHO doc, plus the 2003 report which was estimated at even high rates of 1 - 27 micrograms from our the downloads section of our website (on the users tab) mercuryexposure . info/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=folder&Itemid=287&id=47:world-health-organization-who

@MercuryExposure please link me to that "WHO Document". What is the title of this "document"? can you direct me to a copy of this "document"??

@t5e2 your assertion is incorrect.
Mercury vapor from amalgam is the single largest source of systemic mercury intake: Persons with
amalgam fillings have an average daily exposure of 3-17 ug of mercury per day;
Other sources are: Fish 3 ug per day, Water .05 ug per day, Air .04 ug per day. (WHO Document 118, p.36, 1991)

The consumption of fish is by far the most significant source of ingestion-related mercury exposure in humans and animals,

Mercury and humans should not mix, no matter the form the mercury is in.

Sounds like some cancer studies: "It's very hard to prove, or disprove, cause and effect."
