Jeannie's mini horse farm in Georgia where she raises miniature horses, goats and a variety of other wonderful creatures. This is an 11x14 acrylic on canvas panel. Painted January 2, 2008 from a photo I shot at her farm last August, she also has cows, goats, dogs, cats normal size horses, pigs and a Grand Canyon mule. The photo was a little flat in color & depth, so I used a much lighter shade mixed with Thalo Turquoise & white for the distant trees, which increased the feeling of depth. The trees were done with a 1-inch rough gesso brush dabbing mixtures of cadnium yellow and black. The center horse does have 4 legs, however, the camera would not discern the difference in the grey of the leg and the grey-green grass behind it.... odd, didn't see that until I was finished and saw the video.

It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds).

  • @jamanimefan -- Thanks... I needed that!

Paint from your heart and you should do fine on your exam. it's all in values and contrast. Use a limited palette to get an analogus color scheme. Best of luck in all you do! Thanks for the VERY kind comment.
