  • hey! are the atomic reactors full range or just active guitar cabs? ... can you use it without the cab sim ?

  • @Petrasilchen They are full range. I haven't tried using without the cab sim, but I think you can...

  • Hi David

Love the vid. I just ordered an Axe FX2. Can you tell me what preset you are on from 1:13 to 1:17? Sounds awesome, very Eric Johnsonish. Thanks.

  • @johnechampion I wish I could remember.. You will love yoru new Axe, congrats!

  • Hey David. I finally got my Axe II in, and hooked it up to my Atomic cabinet. Sounds, of course, are pretty awesome. I think I may need to look into using 2 Atomics, as some of the high gain settings generate some massive lows! That's tough on one 12" Speaker!

I'm commenting here to commend your continuing efforts on YouTube in offering some intelligent light on playing and gear. I like how you don't let the haters get to you. It's likely the only gear they're playing on is a laptop anyway.

  • @Five0Music Congrats on the new gear man. :-)

Thanks so much for the encouraging comment, always appreciated! :-)

  • @81giorikas Quality was not great on the audio, I really like the setup though.

    Thanks for the nice comments!

  • Sounds like...crap. Probably the youtube messing compression etc...! Playing is good though!

  • @Wallimann

Your opinion is correct, myself included no one wants to carry around those heavy transformer filled boutique tube amps and their maintenance costs... AXEFX is easier, and high tech etc.but the multi harmonic timbre of a vacume tube is pure magic in the right hands. To each his own of course, You sound great.I am having a stereo boutique amp made when I do I want you to listen to the demo I will post. Not better, different, its a taste thing,I wish I could do it lighter :)

  • @realitywakeupslap Thanks a lot! I'm glad you found this review useful.

Boutique tubes are awesome for sure. I think a lot of people are looking for exact replicas of amps and effects in machines such as the Axe. I think they are different too, just a different type of tool... Neither better or worse, just different in my opinion. :-)
