@debonair1234 not really..those were special bullets designed by the future resistance to perforate terminator's armor, Derek Reese shows them to John a few episodes before..

Okay, I know Cromedome wasn't "killed" until Sarah took the chip out and bashed it so hard she smashed up her MP5 in the process...
But still...the first time I saw this scene I was so stoned I couldn't help but gaze transfixed and shed a single man tear as my eyes beheld the pure and utter concentrated, unfiltered badassery that was this scene. Just like in Terminator Salvation when John was attacked by CGI '80s-hair Arnold.
Terminator always has some of the best scenes.

Although a little unbelievable, in the shows defense.. In ep 5, Goodbye to all that, Derek used a gun that "had the force of a 9mm cannon" and blew a nice chunk out of the terminators head. Also Derek's first shot may have done more damage than we could see. When the terminator was getting shot the force of the bullets jerked his body back which caused him to not fire as straight as he nornally could. Lastly, when both Sarah and Derek were shooting, he couldnt see both of them simultaneously.
