Great question, I do lift one end at a time and place the glide underneath each leg and the sofa slides quite easily. I lift with my legs not my back.

Or you can just use some glossy thick magazines you have laying around the house... I have done this many times while moving bulky heavy things on carpet hardwood and tile.put the spine of the magazines in the direction that will moving the furniture and push away!!

So how did you get the sliders on the back legs of the sofa by yourself, where it's the heaviest part?  You never showed that, or how you even moved the sofa.
