that seems dumb... your body needs water and your making your body suffer to be at your best? seems very unhealthy and an extreme to be doing that... but whatever eating fatty foods is unhealthy too i guess...

@SicSeb this video is one of a series of four. This one focusses on the night before competition, when the muscles are quite flat. If you take a look at next part, you'll see it's about 'pumping up', which brings the muscles to full size. It's not really fair to comment on this athlete's musclarity unless you've seen all the series - check him out on stage, he's got lots of muscle and size, as the judges confirmed.

@RationalTheism - there's two ways of doing it. One is to trick your body into thinking it's short of water - but drinking lots and lots in the few days before, then suddenly reducing. The other more traditional way is just to cut the water right down just before comp.
