Brazilian Keratin Treatment - Self Application - at home

By request, this is a slide show of how I apply my Brazilian Keratin Treatment at home. It's a compilation of several different dates of application since I have now had 5 treatments (3 done at home & 2 done at the salon). I have been growing out a relaxer so you may notice some relaxed ends in earlier photos.

If you do not understand the concept of shrinkage, it will become more clear as you watch my natural hair straightened. My curls while in the blue shirt were taken on the same day as my flat ironed hair while in the hot pink shirt.

It only makes you sick if you do it constantly. Once a month or couple months isn't bad for you. Maybe the "stylist" should do more research.

@theoneyouwanttobe2 Exactly! I did my research and was comfortable using the treatment. Formaldehyde is used in personal care products that people use far more often than keratin treatments.

@choimaru08 I don't remember but it's just an alligator clip. You should be able to find them in most beauty supply or hair accessory stores.

@NaturalManeNYC Some people just want start crap on the Internet. It's no where near dangerous do one treatment a month or few months. It would be worse to smell cleaner than to do a Keratin treatment.

@asiataeko I will just put you out of your misery & block you since you are spending far too much time worrying about what I do with MY hair & how I record MY videos. Do not presume to know my motivation. I made this video by request since many women on a forum I belong to had questions about the process. If you want to provide your product knowledge & educate consumers, start your own channel & record videos in they way you prefer.  Have a fabulous life!

@NaturalManeNYC I never once mentioned a company name or address or website. I only mentioned my prof 2 solidify tht I am knwledgabl &not just sayng wht I said to hate on U. Part of my profession is product-knowledge & educating consumers. I'm guessing that U made ths video not jst to shw off your skills but to shw women tht there R alternatives to RELAXRS. Since U went 2 such extent 2 resrch this product, y not mention that so ppl knw there r risks & concerns that come w/ using this method.

@asiataeko Yes, you came to my "popular channel" to mention your profession. I did not complete my treatment in a cooped up bathroom. If you watched the video you would see that I was in several rooms. I did my research & did not feel that my brand posed a danger to me or my family. Lastly, it is the responsibility of the CUSTOMER to research their brand for any potential dangers. There is no reason to spend $100 - $300 for this treatment when it can be done at home with salon results.
