You'll never take weapons away from criminals! THAT'S WHAT MAKES THEM CRIMINALS!! What is it about that fact that you liberals do not understand? The US Clinton Gun Ban expired in 2004. Gun ownership has increased by 90 Mil in the US since 1991, yet violent crimes involving firearms continue to decline and are at a 35 year low.

UK disarmament continues to progress, yet gun crime increased 89% from 1999 to 2009. UK knife crime is insane, and it tends to show that even if you disarm violent people, they will just find other means to their ends.

Remember kids, when seconds count, the police are just minutes away!

@leestauf look at US gun deaths conpared to UK and make adjustment for population size, its about 10000 to 60 per year, every policeman has a gun in the us and there society is not more,id say less, violent then the uk. People will KILL,guns make that easier

@hondacivic1992 You know, I’m entitled to agree with you during my last trip to America. I went to a shooting range and fired off an AK-47 and a M-16 A4 a 12gauge shotgun and a Glock 17 9mm, and if I had any one of them in my house I would feel completely safe. You should watch PENN & TELLER Bull Shit! On gun control, it will tell you everything I think about banning guns. But if Britain got the chance to bring back hand guns through a vote, I will probably vote no.

@hondacivic1992 - To be honest it is not even worth talking about as they will never get rid of guns in the U.S. and we will never allow guns in the U.K.

My personal view is that guns make murder much much easier and so the U.S. has a far higher murder rate and a gun death rate that is off the chart. In England we have never had a school shooting not a single person. Obviously as a father I want to keep it that way and ot end up like the U.S.

@WillShakespeare2007 @geod5 The problem in the USA is not guns, it is violence. Most violence in the USA is in someway connected to the drug problem. Therefore the drug policy of the federal government is to blame. The same thing happened during prohibition from 1918 to 1933.

The violence is just a symptom of bigger problems. Guns are just a tool. So baning guns would not even treat the symptom, let alone the problem itself. A more liberetarian drug policy might help though.

@rowlandsAable Return the right of law-abiding to keep and carry firearms for self-defense and it will not matter how many criminals have guns, they will be outgunned. This is the case in Switzerland and in states in the USA which have loose gun laws. People are just scared to commit violent crimes because of the possibility of getting shot.
