Welcome to ferret FAQs! I get a lot of questions on my other videos about ferrets and ferret care, so I have to begun this series of tutorials.
Feel free to ask any questions you want answered in an upcoming video!
Other topics that will be covered include diet, care and play, housing, bathing, what a ferret owner can expect, ETC!
I hope these help you, thanks for watching! :)

P.S. Info on styptic powder: "http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-styptic-powder.htm"
Apparently corn starch will work, too.

  • i hope this works..our ferret is 12weeks old and her nails are long and we tried but she keeps biting and shes very wiggly..and when my fiance did the scruff thing she cried =[

  • @LetteSweetz

Awe, I hope it works, too. =(

If she's really wiggly you might find it difficult at first, and you should probably just cut the tips of her nails off first, until you both get used to it... just in case she moves *too* much and you end up cutting her nail too deep.

She's still just a kit though, so she should calm down eventually; however, this is also the age at which they usually end up sleeping the deepest, so you might even be able to trim her nails while she is sleeping!

  • I never thought of that! Thanks for the awesome idea! My cats used to come up and give my ferret kisses because they hated having their nails cut too. It was like they felt bad for her.

  • @SarahKM3 Awe, that sounds so cute...! and kind of sad. ^_^

  • lol :D

  • @danny702x Why lol?? :)

  • Neat trick!!! I wish I could use this trick on my dog. She looks calm and relaxed and completely ignoring the nail clip!!! Wow, amazing.

And by the way, I let my dog lick a lime slice because she kept getting mad when I'm not sharing. She had pretty much the same (but not as epic) reaction as Tanuki vs Jalapeno. LOL. (That VDO almost made me fall off my chair, just FYI.) One lick taught them not to ask for a share for specific kind of food, eh?!

  • Where can I find the treat that you put on her belly? I have never seen it. I am not sure why, but my girl ferret does not like treats AT ALL I even tried to give her real cooked chicken and she did not eat it but her brother omgosh he is exactly the opposite he eats EVERYTHING!

  • @LittleDende wow thank you for your help =]. ill try doing it when shes sleeping i just hope it works..lol i just think she might be scared and she is very wiggly lol i got one back foot done earlier tho..and then she started gettin hyper again..she was 8weeks when we got her and she used to sleep really heavy and now if shes sleeping and we walk past her cage she bounces up and starts chuckling at us lol

  • thank you xx
