  • What Africa needs more than anything is expanded transportation. Without more roads and railroads on the continent development will remain stagnant. The continent can't fully benefit from trade without good transportation.

  • Moyo is very smart but she needs to think and focus more on how to distribute the "aid to africa" with high accountability. the thieves get punished which is so far not the case. cutting aid to Africa is not the solution here. a lot of the leaders in africa are corrupt and thats what needs to be addressed.

p.s---re Eritrea vs. W.Africa, please dont get into such arguments cuz its exactly what we call "retrogressive thinking". Africa should unite instead of the borders you're creating

  • Emotional dispensation by Prof Sacchs doesnt work, is like dead aid indeed! Please review the book and articulate the issues. Dr Moyo just caught off-guard the proponents of more aid to African continent without end and obviously absurd. The dishonesty of the pro-Aid economists failing to propound alternative aid models and yet know what works and what does not. .

  • Jeffrey Sachs is such a sanctimonious fool, yes she may not have a child in an African village but then neither does he but then I see no reason why that should matter. This moron is not being objective at all- a trend that I have noticed in other videos of him.

  • Very sorry USA & Europe.Game is OVER our ex-dictator president which is ur MARIONETTE Adios next one is Egypt -Algeria-Morocco-Syria-libya & we gonna show u that we´r not states of TERRORS & to give Israel the green light to play in the region as it wants !

PS:I wonder why the USA taking soo much care about Egypt Demo than Tunisia,is it because of Israel isn´t it ?USA & Europe talking about human right + freedom etc etc meantime they supporting Dictatorship strange isn´t it ? well..Go Iran Go

  • White men talking absolute shit! Africa is play groud for white men, they rob and pillage with their multi-national corporations. they give dictors weapons and sign bogus contracts to exploit the mineral resources. they supply both sides of the conflict, all this maintains the status quo of exploitation. Food grown in by white farms in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia is exported to Europe

  • Since when did Europeans start having love and compassion for Africans? Africans are one of the groups they despise the most and that is why I'm not buying into this rhetoric about how Aid delivered to African will lift it away from its predicament..

Aid is used as a front to financially and militarily support despotic regimes in Africa that serve western multinational interest to the detriment of the African working class.

  • your all wong

  • The message is clear. The western powers do not want Africa to get out of its predicament. Aid has not worked. Cut of the aid pipeline and let Africans devise their own plan to solve their problems.

I am an African and I don't see how aid has helped me or my country. Can the MP explain why aid continues to flow to Africa and yet poverty is getting worse. Aid is part of the problem not solution. Like she said aid makes African leaders to take the back seat not making any effort on their own.

  • Exactly.

Development was a priority for the English and French colonialists in the Americas whereas the Spanish and Portuguese approached colonialism as a solely predatory and evangelical tool.

Although I don't necessarily agree that the SA, CA and Mexico became dependent on the USA for development, the US certainly did play a major role in the post-colonial development of the region. (A role that was not often positive)
