OK - I just discovered this new thing called Rock Crawling. How does one win this? Points for moves? It appears there isn't a race to the finish line. It also looks like it takes a LOT of patience. Is there any chance of standing up and yelling -"What's that over there!??!!" then quickly moving your car over the rock by hand when everyone is looking over there?

@TeamDebead I gotta look into it, sounds involved. But its a whole different setup than a normal 4X4 RC.

What motor is he using?
Kyxis 1 year ago
@Kyxis Brandon, the 1st XR10 was using 2 Tekin 55ts, now he uses 2 Tekin 45ts. I'm not sure what Scott and Brad were using at the time, but both are now using 2 Tekin 45ts as well. If you go to the Axial website, search for their XR10 setup sheets. It tells you everything on how they set their trucks up.

I have a question: What is involved (electronics and radio gear) in order to lock the wheels for downhill and turning like they do? Considering getting into crawling and don't have any experience. Any advice/responses are appreciated.
djbis 1 year ago
@djbis They run either a dig unit, which will lock the front or rear motors with the flick of a switch, or they run a radio that allows them to run two speed controllers, so they can control each motor individually.

what kind of dig unit is he using? I know there is two motors, is he just locking the rear?
troymteal 1 year ago
@troymteal I'm pretty sure Brad is running dual Tekin FXRs, so he can use that setup to lock the front and rears. Not sure what the other guys are running, may be the same thing, may be something like a VP dig, not sure.
